Fiber arts fun on the farm! INTRO to fiber arts, PART ONE!

$60.00

3 Different 2025 Dates Available (So far!):

  • Sunday, June 29th 10am-11:30am

  • Sunday, July 20th, 10am-11:30am

  • Sunday, August 17th, 10am-11:30am

This program will take place at Dalby Farm in Scituate MA

We will delve into the logistics of the fiber world. What is wool? Where does yarn come from? How is it made and what is the process like?

We will spend time sitting with the sheep who give our farm fine wool, and even help prepare it for processing! I expect to fit time in to demonstrate crochet, the different practical items you may see made with this technique - and even see/participate in the process of dying with natural extracts!

The second part (separate registration TBA) will take place at Staci’s in North Scituate (dates TBD) where we will get technical with crochet. We will learn about the different kinds of yarn, how to hold the hook, start a chain and maybe even tackle single crochet!

Offered for 6 - 9 year olds in small groups (4-6 spots)
Caregivers are invited to stay and read a book/hang- but not required.

Have a kid who knows the basics already?
Don’t worry! I’ll be holding several ‘continuing education’ workshops & other offerings for crochet too! Stay tuned
